What a welcoming, happy coffee shop! The view of the lake is right on their veranda! The coffee had fresh aromatic flavor and it was nice and hot! Pleasant barista server!

Fantastic kitschy little coffee shop! My drink, the pink mamasita, was unique and DELICIOUS! It was a rainy day so we couldn't sit on the well-appointed patio, which had more room. We sat at the window inside and enjoyed the view across the lake while we ate our yummy muffins. A surprisingly wide selection of offerings in a tiny shop! So cute! I would love to come again.

Mi Cartagena Cafe is a beachfront coffee shop that brings a distinctly Colombian feel to the tourist heavy town of Detroit Lakes. Mi Cartagena Cafe is a seemingly perfect marriage between beach life and old world Spanish charm. Go ahead and get yourself any number of refreshing seasonal drinks and take in the beautiful views as you bask in the sunshine, from the large patio seating area. Unless of course you prefer to find some shade under a tree, or take your beverage to go as you walk up and down the beach. It's a perfect location for locals and tourists alike to cross paths and enjoy delicious beverages both hot and cold; caffeinated or otherwise. Don't forget to grab any number of baked goods to quell your hunger! Mi Cartagena is a must stop if you're coming to or through Detroit Lakes, as well as my personal favorite coffee shop in DL. There's no better coffee around!

Incredible experience! Must try! The host is a wonderful Columbian native who has brought a touch of home to her cafe on the lake. She was kind and very helpful as we were passing through the area. My girlfriend and I ended up talking for half an hour about anything and everything. We will absolutely not forget the experience and will go out of our way to visit again.

I showed up as a stranger from Brainerd and left as a friend. This has been one of my most fulfilling coffee shop impromptu stops I have ever made. Kerlis, (owner) helped me choose the perfect coffee and we chatted for a solid hour about life. She truly crafts her coffee with love, the type of love you can taste & feel. This is a must stop for the best brew in Detroit Lakes. Energetically, she has made a little resort like atmosphere for the guest landing somewhere between sunshine and bliss. Wishing her so much success!

Great coffee, and I just love the esthetic. Sit on the patio and enjoy the view while drinking your coffee. Pastries are available as well. This place was definitely a vibe!

The terrasse offers a great view on the lake, perfect for those slow morning starts. The coffee selection is wide and generous. Most importantly, the owner Kerlis is warm and welcoming. Her smile alone will light up your day! I have not tried the food but had to give this little gem 5 stars.

The iced coffees are amazing on a summer day. Delicious ice cream. We loved the patio! The barista/shop owner is delightful as well.
